fresh local seafood

Kirk Doig operates Carisma Seafood, a small, sustainable, seafood operation catching and providing the freshest, shore to plate, produce from the East Neuk of Scotland. Unlike the larger, commercial fishing operations where the majority of the catch is frozen and destined for overseas fish markets in Europe.

Kirk is determined to ensure that the freshest, sustainably caught Scottish langoustines are available for customers within hours of coming ashore.

Carisma is the name of the "Kingfisher 26" prawn trawler that Kirk owns and fishes the Sea’s located off the South and Eastern coast of the East Neuk of Fife, Scotland. Despite being the smallest vessel in the Pittenweem fleet, Carisma is a modern, well equipped fishing vessel.

Collection & Delivery

Kirk specialises in catching langoustine, a shellfish closely related to the lobster. Langoustines are found round our coast’s in the clean, fresh waters of Scotland’s sea lochs and open water. Langoustines are mainly caught at dusk, dawn or during the night at depths ranging from a few metres to over 500m.

Its white flesh is succulent and delicious and Scottish langoustines are recognised as the premium shellfish by countries around the world. Langoustines are also a great addition to a low-fat diet they are also a good source of iron and calcium.

Working with a small network of local fisherman, Kirk is also able to offer creel caught crab and lobster depending, of course, on the day’s catch!
